Mint is an herbaceous aromatic plant of the family Labiatae of temperate regions. It has fragrant flowers, white or fibrous, forming inflorescence like cob.

PROPERTIES – USE

It has pharmaceutical properties.

It has been used since ancient times until today as an aromatic in cooking, wine-making and in the pharmaceutics.

Traditionally it has been used for:

  • For the relief of rheumatisms
  • Against dyspepsia, vertigo, cough, cold, sore throats.
  • The essential oil for gargles in gingivitis, tonsillitis, and inflammations of the nasopharynx.
  • As a calming, to calm the various consequences of the stretched nerves.
  • For concentration improvement
  • As a natural aphrodisiac

 

Mint refreshes and tones the skin. It relaxes muscles and relieves tired legs. It is also used as an anti-irritant and aromatic in candies for sore throats.
