GREEN TEA

 IN GENERAL

 Green tea is prepared by drying the leaves collected from the plant Camellia sinensis. The way of preparation of green tea was applied in the sixth century in China. In the same century green tea was imported to Japan, where in the sixteenth century there was the first appearance of the tea ceremony. At the same time the green tea is becoming also popular in Europe.

 PROPERTIES – USE

Green tea is rich in polyphenols, antioxidants which help to combat harmful free oxygen radicals in the body that cause diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. The Chinese use it as a medicine for over 4000 years. It is also used in cosmetology for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-irritating properties. It helps in the revitalization, stimulation and hydration of the skin.
