F.A.Q.

  • How UVA and UVB rays differ? Both types affect our skin, but Ultraviolet B is responsible for sunburn while Ultraviolet A has long-term effects such as skin cancer, wrinkling and aging.
  • Is suntan healthy? Only a small amount of sunlight is needed for body to manufacture vitamin D. Suntan requires more sun exposure than our body needs.
  • How sunburn is caused? The production of melanin by the skin cells can take up to 18 hours. This is our natural protection from the sun which is not enough when getting a suntan.
  • How do sunscreens work? The ingredients of sunscreen either absorb or scatter and block UV rays. The formulas of these products provide various levels of protection.
  • Is it recommended to use sunscreen every day? Yes. Incidental sun exposure is prevalent all year round. UV rays are stronger during summer but exist and expose skin to long-term dangers in all weathers.
  • Can a sunscreen product offer total sun protection? There is no sunscreen product to offer total sunblock. Even when using the higher SPF sunscreen product some tanning can occur.
